About Senjuji Temple

Senjuji Temple is the head temple of the Shinshu Takada sect, which has over 600 temples throughout Japan. The temple directly carries on the teachings of its founder, Saint Shinran, and his remains are housed in the mausoleum on the temple grounds. Located in Ishinden-cho, Tsu in Mie Prefecture, the temple is affectionately known as the Takada Head Temple (Takada Honzan).
